RENTER REQUIREMENTS & AGE RESTRICTIONS

• Meet the renting locations minimum age requirement of 21. A 'Youthful Surcharge' will be applied to your rental of $25.00 per day plus taxes and additional fees. Renters 21 through 24 years of age may be restricted to specific car classes.
• Present a valid driver's license, unexpired government issued driver's license from the United States, U.S. Territories, or Canada which includes a photograph of the customer. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period.
• Members of the United States Armed Forces who are active duty may present an expired home state license under the following conditions:
• They also present an Active Military ID
• They are in compliance with their military extension policy of the state which issued the license.

NOTE:  

International renters traveling to the United States must check with the Kauai Department of Motor Vehicles to ensure compliance regarding licensing laws. 

• Present a major credit card in their name at the time of rental, with available credit. Payment in full will be charged at the time of reservation, deposit will be charged at the time of rental pick-up. In addition to the anticipated cost Methe rental, an additional amount may be required, 

 or 

• Meet the requirements based on their deposit type. Present a debit card or other acceptable form of payment subject to the qualifications outlined in the payment policy, under Terms and Conditions.

• Provide proof of Renters Collision Insurance per driver or purchase 3rd party Renters Collision Protection (RCP), offered thru Elite Kauai Car Rental for $25 per day, including a service charge of 3%.  If RCP is purchased through Elite Kauai Car Rental, this product will pay for any collision damage to this vehicle up to a maximum $20,000 after a $250 deductible is paid, as long as you or any 'Authorized Drivers' do not violate the contract.  You will be held liable for all immediate charges, towing & damages to your credit card on file.

• Individuals with a learner's permit or instructional driving permit are not eligible to rent vehicles or be considered additional drivers on ANY vehicles.

The underage surcharge for Drivers between 21 and 24 is $18 per day plus 4.712% and a 3% credit card processing fee. Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 may rent the following vehicle classes only: Intermediate, Midsize, Midsize Plus, and Standard with seating of no more than 5-passengers in the vehicle at any given time.
